i have now handed in my interdisciplinary and for my final piece i made a skirt out of a sort of paper fabric and i bonded a light weight calico on top of it with flowers i cut out bonded underneath
, this is my final piece, i am quite pleased with it as it was quite stressful to get to this point as i had to restart my final piece twice,
i also had to find a way to get the skirt to stand out at the side. i tried different ways, using boning underneath calico to make it stand out,
the boning didn't really work though and the skirt kept flopping to one side.
i also tried making the skirt out of card to see if this would make the skirt stand out more it did work but it looked
like card and not like a skirt or a final piece,
so Caroline and Ian suggested that i use this fabric paper material and that worked alot better with the skirt rather than the card and also made it stand up at the side.
i enjoyed the beginning of interdisciplinary with the different workshops and trying out different methods of making fabric and different fabric workshops, however i did get quite stressed at the end of the project and couldn't wait to hand it in but i think thats a usual thing with handing in of projects.
