15 pieces of work

this is my photo from creative approaches to fashion i chose this photo because i like the garment that i made and i think the photo shows my garment well and as it had to be it fell from the sky i took this photo, "it fell from the sky into a tree".

this piece i did on photoshop i chose this image as i like the contrast between the colours and it was one of the first pieces i did on photoshop so i wanted to put this on to show comparison with newer pieces i will do on photoshop.

this is a piece of work i did in creative approaches to fashion i was using inspiration from martin margiela and a dress he made out of bow ties to create this inspired image.

this image i did in creative approaches to fashion workshop i like it becasue i used different medias to create it i chose it as i will be able to look back at it and see how my drawing technique have changed.

this is the ring i created in my jewerlly elective i made it out of copper and brass and i do quite like it but if i could have made it again i would have made it out of the same material and i would have used different coloured gems in the middle of the ring e.g. blue so you would be able to see them more.

this is the dress i made in creative design relisation i have chosen this as i was of my images becasue it was one of the projects i got my best mark on and i really enjoyed this project i also really like the dress i made.

this is one of my lineups i did for creative design practices i chose this piece as this is one of the first lineups i did before i chose my final line up i chose this as i will be able to see the difference between the two lineups.

this is my final line up from creative design practises i have chosen this image as i really liked my final lineup and i like the comparison between the two line ups as you are able to see the differences and what i have kept and what i have changed.

this image i did for creative design practices was for my market level research and i used magazine articles to show the comparison between the highstreet and designer and showing the tricle down effect on the highstreet.

this is a corset i made for fashion art and culture, i made it show different how women have changed throughout the years and becoming equal to men, i really like this piece that i made and i think it is one of my favourites.

this is paper garment i made in creative approaches to fashion workshop i quite liked this as its different and not something i had done before so this is why i put it in my 15 images.

this is a dress i made in a workshop for interdisciplinary processes i really like this dress as this was oringiannly a sample i made to try out an idea i had of making a dress out of cones for my final piece for interdisciplinary but after making it i decided it looked quite messy in the calico and so deiced to try it out in another fabric.

this is my piece i made for the GFW project we did i made a bag out of two belts and two records as we had to make something out recycled things, i do like this bag and i was quite proud of it which is why i have put it in my blog.

this piece is from creative approaches to fashion i chose it as i do quite like this piece but i also like the contrast between the paper and the fabric i also like the colours that i used for it.

this is my final piece for interdisciplinary processes i do quite like this skirt that i made i think it portrays my idea of the skirt sticking out at the side and looks much better than the card i was going to use did.

final day with 3rd years

today was my final day working with the third years and as many 1st years didn't turn in i was put with Cordelia again instead of my third year Ellen, for Cordelia i traced around patterns and then cut out the pattern pieces into fabric and that was all i did for the day the next day her final collection had to be in so she didn't have much else for me to do.
i really enjoyed working with the 3rd years and it gave me an insight in to what to expect when I'm in 3rd year and what it will be like and what i will be doing, Ellen and Cordelia were really helpful about there experiences in second and third year and what i was to expect. i have found the experience really interesting and really helpful and it wasn't half as bad as i thought it would be.

interdisciplinary

i have now handed in my interdisciplinary and for my final piece i made a skirt out of a sort of paper fabric and i bonded a light weight calico on top of it with flowers i cut out bonded underneath, this is my final piece, i am quite pleased with it as it was quite stressful to get to this point as i had to restart my final piece twice,

i also had to find a way to get the skirt to stand out at the side. i tried different ways, using boning underneath calico to make it stand out,

the boning didn't really work though and the skirt kept flopping to one side.

i also tried making the skirt out of card to see if this would make the skirt stand out more it did work but it looked like card and not like a skirt or a final piece,
so Caroline and Ian suggested that i use this fabric paper material and that worked alot better with the skirt rather than the card and also made it stand up at the side.
i enjoyed the beginning of interdisciplinary with the different workshops and trying out different methods of making fabric and different fabric workshops, however i did get quite stressed at the end of the project and couldn't wait to hand it in but i think thats a usual thing with handing in of projects.
